Postpartum Doula Support Packages

Life with a newborn was never meant to be done solo.

However it looks for you, I’m here to help you recover from birth, build your village and create a healthy space that allows you to feel understood and supported as a new mother.

As a mother, and a Postpartum Doula, I understand that no matter how well planned and positive your experience, birthing a baby is strenuous and a significant life event. Little acknowledgement is placed on the fact that with birth of this beautiful baby, or babies, another birth has taken place, THE BIRTH OF A MOTHER!

A new mother may be struggling with feelings of shock, pain or overwhelm over her birthing experience, followed by confusion, as she finds herself grappling with an identity crisis. Who am I now? Sleep deprivation, and physical and structural changes to the New Mother's body are all compounding this momentous time.

She is trying to give herself the time to recover but the demands of a newborn are relentless and all-consuming.

I want you to feel supported, heard and understood during this time, and it’s with this intention, I have created these support packages for you.

“Taster” visits (when you’d like to try it out…)

Perhaps you love the sound of a Postpartum Doula, but just want to have a little ‘taste’ of the experience before you commit to a package.

Or maybe you are unsure of exactly what help you might need or how many visits you require and would like to get a better idea of how I can best support you and whether you feel comfortable with me in your home during this intimate time. I get that!

INTRODUCING…. Taster Visits.

These two-hour visits can be used in whichever way you choose from my offerings. We will have a phone chat before just to check-in and see if you require me to come prepared for specific needs, or whether you would like to see what organically feels right on the day.

  • Debrief your birth and experience a non-judgmental listening ear to help you process your unique experience.

  • Sit with you during breastfeeds and offer support, reassurance and suggestions to feel more comfortable and confident in this ‘learned skill’. Provide information and contacts for Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) should this be required.

  • Provide practical support, self-care planning and anything else from the offerings below (excluding Massage & Meals).

    Two-Hour Visit - $275

    Add Meals - $220
(3 main meals, snacks, lactation tea & cookies)

    Add 60 minute Massage - $160* this is not a stand-alone service.

Introductory Postpartum Doula Support

This package has been designed to ease the transition from hospital to home, from birth to postpartum. It provides the basic needs of a Postpartum Mother as she begins to process this enormous and momentous journey experienced thus far, with the knowledge that this is only the beginning….

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL GIFT to transform a mother’s postpartum experience.

What is included?

Three Postpartum Visits in your home - (each visit around 3 hours) * Following is a guide only. The visits will be based on the needs of the day which can vary from visit to visit.

Visit One -

I will arrive at your home, at a time suitable to you, after the birth of your baby, and work with you in whatever capacity you most need. This may include a listening ear, practical chores, a neck & shoulder massage or a much-needed nap whilst I care for the baby. It’s really up to you! I’m here to offer a helping hand and nurturing support into this early part of postpartum.

OR If you have had a hospital birth, I will visit your home ideally before, or shortly after, you arrive home and ensure that you have the comforting welcome that you deserve.

I will take care of the household chores that are screaming to be attended to, like washing up, tiding up the kitchen, bathroom freshen up and stripping all beds and remaking them with fresh bed linen. I will do any lingering laundry and leave fresh flowers and a beautiful aroma in your home. Obviously, if you’ve had a home birth, I will create an ambiance to honour the occasion.

I will prepare and arrive carrying a home-cooked meal with emphasis on your Postpartum needs and leave it in your fridge, with some tea & lactation cookies.

Visit Two - With the desire to support you in the most positive way, I will return at a time suitable to you. You may have a definite idea of how I can help you, or you may feel completely overwhelmed and teary. In any case, I have the skills & intuition to meet you where you are at when I arrive.
Perhaps a nice cup of tea and listening ear may be initially needed, followed by a hot shower or herbal bath with no distractions (I will keep my eye on baby), or a power nap! If you are in the mood for a massage, or belly binding, I can do that!

I will help you let go of unhelpful thoughts, feelings & judgement, by helping you boost your levels of oxytocin, your ‘feel good’ hormone, shift mindset, and help you find & build your village whilst working on a self-care plan. I can do some light household chores. I will encourage, reassure & support your own maternal intuition to direct you to the needs & cares of your baby, typically feeding, settling and sleeping.
I will leave you with two home-cooked meals in your fridge and I can pick up some groceries on the way to your home.

Visit Three - This visit will reflect the needs as outlined in Visit Two, with the additional options of these services -

  • Full body one hour Relaxation or Remedial Massage. I am a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist.

  • Comprehensive Teaching & Guiding you through the skills to engage Baby Massage as part of your daily routine. I am a certified Baby Massage Instructor.

  • I will leave you with two home-cooked meals in your fridge, prepared before I arrive.

Comprehensive Postpartum Doula Support

What is included?

Six Postpartum Visits in your Home - (each around 3 hours)

  • Emotional support

  • Physical support

  • Practical support

  • Informational support

Emotional Support

The journey to Motherhood is a life-altering event, and the transition cannot be undermined.
By saying this, I’m not just talking about the method of delivery of your baby, or your birth experience, although that is a big part of it…what I also want you to remember is that when a Baby is Born, the Mother also experiences a birth, and a shift of identity.
The new mother, who is understandably absorbed in the needs of her newborn, may struggle with feelings of confusion, emotional exhaustion and a general feeling of unsettle.

During these visits I will facilitate your well-being, by helping you to understand the ways you have transitioned physiologically, hormonally and emotionally and nurture you as you navigate your way through these changes.
I will listen without judgement when you need to debrief, chat or cry.
I will help you work with your baby brain (yes, this is real!) in a useful way, and increase your Oxytocin levels, a beautiful hormone that is released when we feel love & connection.
I will work intuitively to provide a warm, calm and comforting environment in your home, that inspires peace & joy. I will comfort, support & nurture you to facilitate bonding with your baby, feeding with confidence, and feeling in control of your parenting style.

Hugs are included!

Physical Support

As a qualified and skilled Remedial Massage Therapist with more than 15 years experience, I am able to bring my massage table and accessories to your home and give you a therapeutic massage.
Birthing a baby is a physically fatiguing event, awkward positions can be held tightly in the body for numerous hours, and it’s common to feel ‘damaged’ and misaligned following birth.
I understand the physiology of pregnancy & birth, the adjustment to a birthing mother’s pelvic girdle and surrounding structures, and the common discomforts associating with spending long periods of time cradling and feeding your baby (or babies).

Practical Support

Helping with light chores, tidying up and laundry in the home helps newborn mother’s get on with the most important task they have, self-care & bonding with their baby.
I am happy to clean up kitchens, bathroom, bed linen and laundry, and I totally get how helping in a practical way goes a long way to helping a mother’s emotional well-being.

I can also assist with overseeing you feeding, bathing or settling your baby, and help you understand your baby’s cycle, reading body language & behavioural cues and the different cries.

Every family is unique, which means needs will be different, and could indeed change from visit and visit. And that’s okay! I’ll adapt!

Informational Support

I will offer resources to facilitate support for sleep, settling and daily routines of your baby.
I have up-to-date information regarding newborn tests, immunisations and SIDS.
Please be aware that you don’t need information overload at this time, the intention for any information provided is to build confidence and reinforce your own innate wisdom as your ‘baby’s expert’!

My took kit provides a comprehensive list of services, resources, classes & treatments available in your local area. I have done the research for you, so you can focus on your own physical & emotional health and bonding with your newborn.

  • Sibling care
